What is a Trademark?
Trademarks and service marks are a means of distinguishing one company's goods or services from those of another. They consist of a word, device (logo), or a combination of both. Registration provides a public record of your claim to the exclusive use of your mark for goods and services and entitles you to take action against anyone who makes use of the same or a confusingly similar mark.

Trademark Registration
Registration of a trademark is voluntary but advisable. Waterlow can prepare and file a trademark application in relation to any suitable name, word or logo or combination thereof, in both the UK and internationally.

How long will my registration take?
The timescale for obtaining a registration of a trademark depends largely on the particular mark. Assuming the mark can be registered and the application proceeds without objections or opposition, it is possible to obtain a registration in 6 to 9 months. The registration will last for 10 years and can be renewed for 10 years, subject to the payment of renewal fees and the continued use of the mark.
